Drayage Customer Service Representative
Division: Momentum Freight

Momentum Freight Transport has an opening for a Drayage CSR! Momentum Freight is a Toronto-based international transportation solutions provider offering full freight forwarding, warehousing / distribution and trucking / intermodal services and we are looking for an energetic and customer service oriented individual with experience in Drayage transport to join our growing team. The position will be Full Time Permanent, 10 hour shifts. The role is a work from home position. Some after hours and weekend work may be required based on shift rotation. Compensation is $60,000 CAD per year with three (3) weeks paid vacation. Four (4) weeks in-office training will be provided upon hiring to ensure our new team member receives thorough orientation and direction for the role.
In an ideal candidate we are looking for:
- At least one year or more of experience in an a previous Intermodal Dispatch related role, with knowledge of CN / CP Rail systems
- Previous drayage experience
- Familiar with Greater Toronto Area (GTA) geography
- Excellent communication skills with a strong grasp of the English language (written and verbal)
- A customer service oriented disposition
- proactive, enthusiastic and approachable
- Detail-oriented, organized with good time management skills
- able to multi-task, prioritize and make quick, educated decisions
- Flexibility - able to think on their feet and adjust to ever-changing situations
- Agility - must be able to work efficiently in a fast paced team environment
- Superior computer skills with experience working with Microsoft Office Suite applications (MS Word, MS Excel, etc.) and the ability to learn new software (ie our in-house proprietary system) quickly.
General Duties will include:
- Daily communication with customers, responding to inquiries (via phone or email) in a professional and timely manner
- Continuously updating customers as to the status of their orders as required and resolving any customer specific freight issues which arrive
- Providing excellent and friendly customer service to all who contact Momentum Freight
- Data entry - accurately inputting data and creating a variety of reports for internal / external use.
- Scheduling pickup and delivery appointments with trucking companies for customer cargo
- Execution of established procedures for the processing of bills
- Collaborating / offering assistance to other team members were needed in ensuring the delivery of optimal transportation service solutions.
- Planning & organizing next day deliveries
- Building & maintaining strong, engaged, positive relationships with all clients, suppliers and other employees
- Any other duties which may be assigned to the Dispatch / Customer Service Team
Some additional skills and experience that would be an asset but are not required:
- Post secondary degree from a college or university
- Knowledge of rail billing and steamship lines
- Previous experience in logistics customer service
